Altered Art Projects

Altered Wine Cork Collage Oh My Heartsie GirlThis is my first try at altering wine corks, we have so many I thought I would see what I could do. The picture does not show the details and I hope to do a quick video so I can slowly show you the details, but I tired to use lots of elements, objects and ephemera I could think of that goes with the theme of sewing. What do you think? Have you ever tired altering or recycling an object into art?

  1. I’m not to sure how old your altered cork post is but they are lovely. I too have several in a jar ready to alter. Have a bunch of ideas running through my crafty head just need to see it through. I love to alter the vintage wooden thread spools.
I tuck felt down into the spools hole and the hand made stick pins stick into the spool and don’t move. U can fit 3 stick pins into the spools hole. Than decorate the spool (where the thread usually would be) with lace or appliqués etc. add vintage button and seam binding and they are so cute. Would love to see a tutorial on your altered corks.
As my sister is a wine drinker I thought I would try to alter some corks to hang on her tree as Christmas Ornaments.

    1. Hi Paulie, thank you for your kind comment. I have had several ask for a tutorial, I’m not real good with videos but I think its time to stretch and try. The spools sound fun too, I would need to find some vintage spools. Thank you for stopping by!Maybe see you one What I Made WW Wednesday next week.

    1. Hi Dianna, good to hear from you and have you stop by. I am kinda slacking on my crafts these days, have been working on building blog followers, takes so much time. And I joined the gym about a month ago and have been going 3-4 times a week. Hope you and our family are well. Thanks again for stopping by, be blessed,
      Hugs Karren
