5 Tips On Buying Jewelry That Will Last

5-Tips-On-Buying-Jewelry-That-Will-LastDid you know there are 1 in 3 women that if you ask would say they would like jewelry for any occasion but only 1 in 5 will buy jewelry for that special person in your life.

Buying jewelry like diamonds can be a complicated process because there are so many options.I cover tips on what to look for in my article:  4 Ways You Can Successfully Buy Diamond Rings

  1. Avoid the well-known stores

But for those that are looking for something more simple and as a gift the first thing is to stay avoid jewelry stores with prestige names

Tiffany Cartier Zales or Jareds

  1. Get referrals

As buying in these stores could mean hundreds of dollars for a silver bracelet. First, you might want to talk with friends get referrals then consider local jewelry stores.

  1. Silver is a trend

There has always been a thing for gold and we should settle for silver, but silver is very popular these days, the reason is that gold is so high in price and you can buy quality silver that has a 92.5 percent of silver.  If you see something like “nickel silver” or German silver” they have no silver at all. So keep that in mind. Looks for quality silver that has the content of 925 stamped on jewelry.

  1. How about pearls

Pearls are an all-time classic and very versatile to wear, women are wearing them with mixed media jewelry from chains to other types of stones and even adding with watches, very classy. But when buying pearls keep in mind there are 3 kinds of pearls; natural, cultured and imitation which are used in costume jewelry. Imitations are the best bet and you would choose a high luster; shiny surface and avoid cloudy or dull.

  1. But let’s talk diamonds

It isn’t nearly as hard to buy diamonds as it used to be because there are competent stores online that where you can buy with insurance to protect your investment, find quality and beauty and one of the finest is Michael Arthur’s for diamond engagement rings where you can browse their jewelry to find inspiration to help narrow down your choices, what you like in shape, style size of stone and color; gold or platinum.

No matter the occasion you can be assured that buying jewelry is always acceptable, it comes with thought and love to give to someone special. If you want to learn more about Diamond’s

Before-Your-Hand-Shines-Bright-With-a-Diamond-Focus-on-These-Four-Diamond-Purchasing-CriterionsBefore Your Hand Shines Bright With a Diamond, Focus on These Four Diamond-Purchasing Criterions

Time immemorial, human civilization has seen diamonds as a significant part of society. This gemstone has claimed massive essentially in our lives. The contributions and usage of diamonds are widespread. The business world, as well as the fashion industry, has seen activities involving diamonds, such as selling and investing. Jewelry and personal accessories are of increasing demands in the foreign as well as the local market. Diamonds have always been a source of prestige in our community.

With the surge in the usage rates and the distribution of diamonds worldwide, the consumers now seek to learn more about diamonds and their characteristics, including the type of cuts, quality grades, shapes, designs, among others. In the past, few cuts were available, and it would cost a fortune to make a customized set. But nowadays, there are a lot of jewelers who are customer-centric and focus on developing custom diamond earrings, and rings.

You can grade the quality of the diamond based upon four key elements, namely, cut, clarity, color, and carat. Out of these four, cut is the most crucial factor, and the utter brilliance of the diamond lies in this factor.

Cut

The distribution of light is crucial in a diamond, and this depends substantially on the cut of the diamond. Some of the typical diamond cuts are as follows;

  • Round Brilliant: It has a 58-facet cut, which is calibrated for supreme brilliance
  • Cushion-Cut: This cut is also referred to as the pillow cut. A blend of old mine cut, emerald cut, and the antique cut
  • Princess-Cut: A square cut with many facets. This cut looks brilliant on women with long fingers
  • Oval Diamond: Popular among females with small hands and fingers. This cut creates an illusion of longer fingers
  • Marquise: Elongated cut with pointy ends
  • Pear-Shaped: The shape is in the form of a pear, resembling the oval and marquise cut
  • Emerald-Cut: Rectangle Shape with cropped corners. The long lines of this cut tend to create dramatic blazes of light, appealing to many customers
  • Heart-Shaped: A unique shape. Although what matters most is the skill of the cutter. A slight mistake can result in the disruption of the shape
  • Trilliant-Cut: A triangular-shaped cut, for those who seek unique work
  • Radiant Cut: Has seventy facets with a square or a rectangle shape, possessing of chopped corners
  • Asscher Cut: A mixture of an emerald cut and a square shape with cropped edges

Color

The less color a diamond possesses, the better it will shine. There are five color ranges of diamonds, which is assigned a letter grade for better evaluation.

Carat

Carat relates to the weight of the diamond. The larger the carat, the costlier the stone is. This unit of measuring diamonds evaluates the precise size of the stone.

Clarity

The clarity of a diamond rests upon the location of flaws, the number of defects, and the number of blemishes on the stone. A flawless diamond is very rare. Depending on the inclusions, diamonds get different grades.

While choosing the type of diamond, one should not get confused between these four key elements. The price of the diamond depends upon all the four factors held together. For instance, even though two diamonds may weigh the same, the price can vary drastically based on the color and the cut of the diamond.

The Special Meaning Behind January to June Birthstones

The-Special-Meaning-Behind-January-to-June-BirthstonesHow would you like to wear protection and good fortune around your neck? Knowing you have a unique piece of jewelry makes you feel special and safe. A birthstone has a powerful positive energy that can envelop the wearer. Which, in turn, allows her to exude vigor and vitality.

A three birthstone necklace is three times the power and energy. You can also wear the birthstones of the people you love like your parents or children – making it more meaningful and extra special.

The History of Birthstones

During the fifth century, Christian scholars believed that the twelve gems in the breastplate of Aaron represented not only the tribes in Israel but the twelve months of the year as well. These months are then connected to the twelve signs of the zodiac.

The scholars formulated each gem represents an astrological alignment that brings therapeutic benefits for the wearer. Before, people thought that wearing one stone for each month would bring maximum benefit. Eventually, the practice evolved to a more personalized one – that is, wearing only the stone that represents their birth month.

In 1912, Sears published the official list of all birthstones and the months they represent. It is the list that jewelers and buyers refer to until today. To make buying a three birthstone necklace a joyful and exciting experience, here are the meanings and the energies attached to them:

January – Garnet

The person who is born in January is the decision-maker in the group. A beautiful red stone named Garnet symbolizes it. January persons have the powerful combination of being analytical and compassionate.

They can make any chaos come to order with a blink of an eye and yet still has love left to comfort and care.

February – Amethyst

February-born people will have the honor to wear the beautiful-hued member of the Quartz family, which is Amethyst.

It exudes a calm and mellow vibe that is perfect for deeply spiritual people. The wearer is usually a gentle soul who loves peace and harmony more than anything else.

March – Aquamarine

From the name itself, you can infer that this stone has a close affinity to the ocean. Aquamarine has a powerful purifying presence.

March-born people, just like the water, can wash away all negativity. She can inspire people to be honest and mindful. She also has impeccable communication skills.

April – Diamonds

Diamonds are known for their superb strength and dependability. These are traits that best describe people born in the fourth month of the year.

They are known to survive any challenges with much grace and poise. It is indeed girl power, personified.

May- Emeralds

The Emerald birthstone symbolizes unity, love, and compassion. People who were born in April are known for their unconditional love and peaceful reconciliation powers.

They have a gift for uniting opposing forces and reconciling painful separations. These Emerald babies are perfect matchmakers.

June- Pearl

Pearls are known in history as a stone that exudes innocence and magical powers. They are perfect for the uniqueness of people born in June. These loving individuals are very much in tune with the natural world and have a way with animals.

A birthstone brings the wearer the power to make a positive change in the world. Wearing them as a necklace can make anyone feel loved and unique – a beautiful feeling that can be shared to make the world a better place.
