In recent years it has become popular to take hen weekends or even hen week holidays, with city breaks or skipping off somewhere hot to get a nice tan and relax with your girls. With offers on flights and great package deals available hen weekends or weeks away are pretty affordable.
But you don’t have to go abroad either, you can always book a nice cottage for a week or weekend for all your closest friends and family there are plenty of great places to stay in the UK and plenty of activities available to keep you occupied.
Speaking of activities, there are hundreds of companies out there now who specialise in offering packages for hen parties whether that’s cooking classes, food and wine tasting, outdoor adventures and even track days. There are plenty of things to do to suit all budgets, and many of these activities don’t involve getting blind drunk.
Why the Change
Why are more brides to be looking for classy hen weekends than trashy? According to research now 85% of brides to be and their hen parties want a classy party over tacky. Blue Chip Holidays, surveyed brides, bridesmaids and anyone attending a hen weekend in the coming year, or who had attended a hen weekend within the last year how they felt about hen parties or hen weekends. They found that 75% would rather spend quality time with family or friends over getting blind drunk. They would also rather be pampered or do something productive.
Those attending hen weekends or weeks are also more than happy to pay for something like this, 57% of those surveyed would be happy to spend between £100 and £300 for a stay of one night with activities included. Furthermore 33% would be happy to pay between £300 and £500 for a long weekend away, with activities and 10% would pay more than £500 for up to 5 days away and activities.
