Oh My Heartsie Girls Wonderful Wednesday

So how is everyone’s week going? Rant Coming…Face-mask-debackle-frozen-sewing-machines-stopped-productionWell, my sewing has stopped for the moment, I have 2 sewing machines and they have both froze. I have over 25 masks cut, pinned and ready to sew, there are those that use a needle and thread however, I would want to sew by hand. I called to see what it would cost to repair, turns out $75.00 and they take my machine. I tried to troubleshoot, they are both frozen!! When I talked to the repairman, he said there are greases they use to lubricate and in dry climates can totally go hard so even oil will not penetrate…….So I decided I will find me a machine today. Wish me luck since so many places are sold out. Go figure everyone jumped on the sewing bandwagon to make the much-needed masks. I guess when you don’t use a machine for like 4 years things happen, wink!

  1. Wouldn’t you know that would happen when you really need a sewing machine. It’s odd to think of the things that have become so popular and are hard to get or at the very least more costly with a long line ahead of you. You would not believe how well bikes are selling.
Good luck to you and wishing you a great week.

  2. Thank you for hosting! This is what I featured the week of 6-1 to 6-5 on my blog. On Tuesday was Spinach Salad With Crab Cake and Grilled Shrimp. Wednesday saw Roast Beef Waldorf Salad. Thursday was Lobster and Crab Salad Over A Warm Roll. And winding up this Salad Week was Tips For Storing Greens. Enjoy!

  3. I’m shocked to hear that sewing machines are sold out. But then again, it seems everything is selling out these days. Sewing as a hobby has not been popular for years. It could be the mask making but it could also be people stuck at home with nothing to do too. Who knows.

  4. Hi Karren,
So sorry to hear your machines aren’t working, especially after you have your masks cut out and ready to go. That has got to be so frustrating. I made 130 masks and donated most of them to local hospitals, doctors offices, and to the workers at a local grocery store. I certainly hope you can find another machine soon.

  5. Thanks for the party Karren. I send you {{{good vibes}}} that you get some sewing machine karma. If you know exactly what you want amazon might be a good alternative? I don’t know for sure but worth a try. Good Luck!

  7. Thanks for featuring my Customized Rose Sneakers! You’re right about sewing supplies being sold out. I finally found a few spools of white and black thread at Walmart recently. Basic colors were impossible to find! Have a great weekend, Karren!

  8. Girl, I am there with you! Both of my sewing machines conked out and I had to take them to repair – which is overflowing with broken sewing machines because everyone needs them to make masks! Compared to the $175 each it cost to fix mine, $75 is a bargain IMHO
