Top Tips on Preparing Your Small Business for Hybrid Work

Top-Tips-on-Preparing-Your-Small-Business-for-Hybrid-WorkThe prospect of hybrid work is nothing to be scared of, provided that you prepare your business for the virtual road ahead.

Embracing modern business methods is your prerogative as a small business owner, but it’s worth noting that failing to do so could comprise a step in the wrong direction.

If you were thinking about adopting a hybrid working plan in time for a bright new year, here are some tips to help you start off on your best foot.

Design Your Infrastructure for Accessibility

For a hybrid working model to thrive, everyone needs to be able to easily access your company network, engage with your content and navigate your digital operations with ease.

Digital inaccessibility is, unfortunately, a common issue found throughout many websites and company networks.

Designing your infrastructure with accessibility in mind can help you support everyone, including your customers.

For example, remote meetings are difficult enough without having to struggle with inaccessibility. In this regard, some great media transcription services can assist those who struggle with a hearing disability or can’t benefit from the audio.

Plus, this can be a superb way of recording your meetings to later refer back to, and nobody has to waste time typing everything up manually!

Utilize Flexible Working Spaces

One of the best ways in which to cut costs on your overheads without sacrificing access to physical space, is to utilize flexible office solutions.

This is a wonderful way to support the hybrid style of working, which in itself is already adaptable by nature, so electing for an office setup that caters for that is vital.

Flexible office spaces tend to be safe, hyper-modern, and in many cases, great for collaborative opportunities.

For smaller businesses who may not be able to afford permanent premises and support a hybrid workforce, this could be the perfect alternative.

Educate Your Employees

A digital skills gap provides a big problem for hybrid working. The most productive teams tend to all be on the same page and thoroughly well-versed in the tech tools that need to be used.

By educating your employees, settling on the right remote working tools and making sure that no one is left out of the loop, you can hopefully start to close any skills gaps that might be appearing throughout your own business.

Cloud-Based Solutions

The cloud is all the rage these days, and for good reason. The abstract concept of the cloud is being embraced by many for its extensive data storage options, its ease of access and its countless development opportunities.

It’s not as daunting a place as it sounds either; in fact, if you manage to go for a customizable cloud solution, you may find it suits your small business perfectly, as it should allow you to scale your IT infrastructure with ease.

Peek-a-Boo Cookies

Peek-a-Boo Cookies | MrFood.com: Peek-a-Boo-Cookies

These bakery-worthy homemade sandwich-style Peek-a-Boo cookies have a yummy jam that peeks out from holes in their sugar-coated tops. Whether you make ’em to enjoy at home or for a bake sale, these will go fast!
What You’ll Need:
  • 1 1/2 cups (3 sticks) butter, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 4 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
     Coupons
  • 3/4 cup jam or preserves (see Options)
  • 1/4 cup confectioners’ sugar
  • What To Do:
    1. In a large bowl, with an electric beater on medium speed, beat butter, granulated sugar, egg, vanilla, and salt until creamy. Gradually add flour, beating until well mixed. Cover and chill 1 hour.

    2. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.

    3. Divide dough into 4 pieces. On a lightly floured surface, roll out each piece to 1/8-inch thickness. Using a 2-inch round cookie cutter, cut out circles and place 1 inch apart on ungreased cookie sheets. Using a plastic drinking straw, randomly cut out circles of dough from half the cookies.

    4. Bake cookies 10 to 12 minutes, or until lightly golden. Remove to wire racks to cool completely.
    5. Spread jam evenly over solid cookies. Sprinkle remaining cookies with confectioners’ sugar. Place the cookies with holes over the jam-topped cookies. Serve, or store in an airtight container.

    NOTES:
    • These cookies are delicious and adorable! We suggest putting out a plate of these along with mugs of steaming cider.

    • Any flavor jam can be used, but we like to use an assortment so there are different colors peeking through the holes in the cookies.

4 Ways to Live a Smarter Life in These Modern Times

4-Ways-to-Live-a-Smarter-Life-in-These-Modern-TimesTechnology has improved a lot as the years go by. More and more people are looking and choosing the most convenient ways to live. It’s sad to know that others find their happiness through getting the things that these modern times offer. But if we come to think of it, is this really the way we should live our lives? The answer will solely depend on how you value happiness. Is having peace of mind enough for you to say that you are happy?

No matter what modern technology offers, we shouldn’t forget how to live a smart life. Instead of making impulsive decisions, we should learn to make wise decisions. If you don’t know how to do it, here are four effective ways to live a smarter life.

Save energy

Saving energy can mean different things. It can mean saving your physical energy and strength for more valuable things. It can also literally mean saving energy to save the environment. Living a smarter life is not only about ourselves. It is also about finding ways on how to contribute to making the world a better place to live. Consider starting at home. To save energy, you can choose to switch to solar. There are construction companies in Rockford, IL that install quality solar panels. You can ask for recommendations from your relatives and friends for reliable construction companies in Rockford, IL.

Spend your money wisely

Many people say that money can’t buy happiness, but in reality, sometimes it does. Buying your favorite coffee, getting yourself new shoes, and buying new clothes will surely make you happy. But are these worth it? Living a smarter life also means you have to spend your finances wisely. Choose to spend on something that will make you live a better life. It’s okay to treat yourself once in a while, but keep in mind that everything has limitations.

Ensuring that your savings go to worthy investments is also spending your money wisely. Instead of buying new clothes every week, why not save that money to build your own home.

Always set realistic goals

Wherever you are in life, you must know what your goals are. Setting some realistic goals will make your life more purposeful. When you know your goals, you will always have something to look forward to. You’ll have a better reason to wake up and work hard. Whether you want to get married at a certain age or build your own business, setting goals like these will require you to make smarter life choices.

These are a few of the many ways on how to live a smarter life. Once you know how to live a smarter life, you will also live a happier life. And to live our life to the fullest, we should do our best to make smart decisions. Whatever your goals are, whether they are big or small, always think wisely. It’s not always about what would make you happy. Sometimes it’s better to think of what would make you live better.
